| Spring Forward, by Mia Bolte, M.A., facilitator Here in Minnesota, most of us sigh in relief when we get a glimpse of spring. Ready for change, we are thrilled to see buds grow green and flowers emerge from their wintry sleep. Spring, complete with new life invites our own aliveness. Chances are, you have something that is ready to melt away to make space for something new. What inside you wants to come to life at this time? It might be something you are already familiar with and want more of. Or, you might take a leap and nurture something you have been wishing or longing for. Recently, my friend Haley realized she wanted to learn to play. As a thirty-something who had accomplished a great deal in the world, she felt it was time to learn more about this aspect of herself that she hadn’t given much attention. We all have some part of ourselves that wants to come forward. As you notice the outer world beginning to bloom, take a moment to connect with yourself and ask, what wants to come alive in me at this time? Pay attention, and surely you’ll greet your own internal springing.
Mini-Reflection Exercise Get inspired to spring! Take some time to connect with your self and mindfulness. Breathe. Feel your feet on the ground. Recall a springtime image or sound. Describe it or jot down the qualities of it. Notice if this recollection gives you a clue into a part of yourself that wants to spring forward.
