Reflections (by Teresa Thomas-Carroll)

In the story of Charlotte’s Web, our heroine searches for a special word to spin into her web to describe Wilbur and save his life. She’s given a soap label that reads, “With new RADIANT action.” The barnyard animals cannot define radiant but they sense it must be wonderful. Wilbur comes to the conclusion that he does feel radiant.

Radiant is a favorite word of mine. It means so much more than can come from a simple definition. It evokes a way of being, inspiration, a lovely brightness that emanates from within.

Think for a moment about this word. How do you experience radiance? In what ways can you bring “new radiant action” into your life?

Use the Mini-Reflection Exercise toreflect upon your favorite descriptive word.
