Purple Crayon Factory provides unique, refreshing sessions for participants to reflect and creatively think through their personal and professional goals and dreams. Sessions include workshops, interactive networking and keynotes as well as individual assistance with our certified coach.

Purple Crayon Factory's Background
In 1998, Teresa Thomas-Carroll was asked by Laurel Hirt to co-design and facilitate a creative workshop for a higher education conference. Participants commented on how refreshing it was and gave high praise in evaluations, stating that they fully enjoyed the opportunity to reflect and reconnect with their work while forming deeper connections with their colleagues. At the same time, Teresa realized she had happened upon her “life purpose” and was excited to discover how she could provide venues for people to get in touch with the lives they want. From that first workshop, word spread and Purple Crayon Factory was born and continues to grow.

Behind the Name
We are often asked how we came up with the name Purple Crayon Factory. We wanted to convey that we bring refreshing, creative reflection to work. To us, “Purple” symbolizes passion and uniqueness and “Crayon” symbolizes fun, creativity, imagination and a sense of play. All of these are adjectives that participants have used to describe our sessions. “Factory” is an environment where you create something of value--which is what we help you do. That's it!
