Reflections (by Tash Burg, M.A., Facilitator)

Its official! Autumn has arrived. And much like the external changes of the seasons, our internal seasons of the spirit continue to unfold. As the animals prepare for hibernation, we also have an opportunity to prepare during this time of vibrant changing colors and falling leaves. I would like to invite you to notice what the season reflects and inspires within you. Begin with the following questions:

  • What’s rustling within me?
  • What diverse colors might emerge?
  • What am I ready to harvest?
  • What do I need to till?
  • How can I best prepare for a season of inner reflection?

The beauty that surrounds us reminds us that as we harvest, it is also time to let go. For further guidance, you may refer to the mini reflection exercise on letting go and acceptance.

Tasha Burg, M.A. is a holistic wellness counselor. Her session “Expressive Art: Transforming Pain,” will be offered to the public on Sunday, October 16 (details below).

Mini-Reflection Exercise

Make yourself comfortable. Sink into your chair and feel yourself fully supported in the midst of change. Allow three, deep cleansing breaths. Breathing in, receiving. Breathing out, letting go. In this state of allowing, consider two questions as you simply notice the wisdom that arises in the clarity of stillness.

First ask yourself, “What am I being invited to let go of?” Take a few moments to listen and notice.

And when you are ready, ask: “What am I being invited to accept?” Notice what thoughts, feelings or impressions arise.

Continue on your journey, noticing what life is inviting you to let go of and what life is inviting you to accept as you move through each moment.
