Reflections (by Becca Pournoor, facilitator)

Life is rarely lived in a straight line. In an effort to simplify our lives we tend to narrowly drive from point A to point B in as little time as possible. In doing so, we miss the back roads full of wild flowers and the farmers markets; we even drive by our own feelings. You've heard and probably said to yourself, "Been there, done that," but did you really live it? Did you really see, smell, taste, experience or was it just quickly checked off your list? Life is a spiral with twists and turns, which often bends when we least expect and at times winds us back around to where we've been. When we return to these same places, we gather more wisdom. We can renegotiate the turn and move on. It helps when we pay attention and notice the details.

Use the mini reflection exercise later in the newsletter to experience a "back road." Becca facilitates From Story to Sense of Sacred - Women’s Circling.

Mini-Reflection Exercise

Try this:
Slow down.
Forget about your planned destination.
Take a back road.
Be adventurous.
Savor questions.
Thrill to the quest of life and see where you end up. You might even find yourself in a place you’ve been before but never appreciated.

"To know exactly where you are headed may be the best way to go astray. Not all those who wander are lost."-- Anthony deMello
