Reflections (by Beth Woodward, Marketing On The Playground™)

In the spirit of taking it easier over summer, we are running an article by a colleague who has provided much support and inspiration for Purple Crayon Factory. Beth’s article was written with business in mind but can be applied to many aspects of life.

I relate creating a successful business to the farmers I have seen in their fields. Have you ever had the chance to take a drive in the country during harvest time? You will notice many farmers in one field for days and then they move to their neighbor’s field helping each other have a successful harvest. This has been going on for decades; it’s not a new idea. We need the same help in our businesses.

We all need a pat on the back, a supportive environment, new ideas and sometimes a kick in the pants. Success teams may be set up for all types of needs. I would not be where I am today without my team. I count on our meetings because I am able to give support, lend an ear and assist my teammates with whatever they need for that time period. I receive the same in return. Whether I need to obtain valuable information, set goals to move forward with my week or want a cheering squad for a success achieved--my success team is there for each other.

Use the mini reflection exercise later in the newsletter to explore if a Success Team could help you. Mini-Reflection Exercise

Consider if a success team could help you:

  • Are you fully committed to succeed in your business or aspiration?
  • Have you been trying to “go it alone” but now realize that new ideas, support and inspiration could be useful?
  • Are you able to provide and receive support?
  • Do you want more focus?
  • Are you energized or motivated by working with others?

If it sounds like a fit for you, give yourself the boost and richness you deserve by joining or forming a success team. For Success Team Tips, see www.marketingontheplayground.com.

Purple Crayon Factory facilitators are involved in a variety of success teams, such as www.sisteri.com. PCF offers WELLmet, fertile ground for developing a success team.
