Reflections

As if with a new love, I've fallen head over heels with the new role I've taken on with MN Women In Networking (W.I.N.). I keep thinking about all the wonderful times we’ve already had and the times to come. I eagerly await the next events. My dreams are filled with all the things I'd like to offer for the members. My family keeps asking why I always seem to be smiling when in my office. My heart skips a beat when I tell a friend about this work and I blush when they inevitably they say that we seem perfect together.

In this starry eyed stage, it would be quite easy to forget about my other loves and needs. Fortunately, I remember going through this stage with Purple Crayon Factory and am trying my best to avoid the lapses in judgment such as "Sleep? Who needs sleep when I can be implementing the ideas swirling in my head?”"

But still, it's about all I can think about. My new role began in December so it's still feels like there is no end to what I can be doing and learning. In order to maintain a sense of balance in my personal life, this additional role is forcing me to take stock of my time and priorities in my work life. I'm confident that in the next few months, I'll feel more settled into my dual roles with Purple Crayon Factory and W.I.N. I want everyone to be able to experience having something that feels so right.

Enough about me…could there be a "new love" in your life? Explore that with the Mini-Reflection Exercise.

“(The Connection Concierge) totally exceeded my expectations. What first drew me to this service was the opportunity to tap into Teresa’s vast network of contacts. However, not only did Teresa connect me with several valuable contacts - both individuals and organizations - she provided creative ideas for networking and marketing my event planning business.  Teresa is passionate about helping people and businesses grow, and I experienced first hand her commitment to going the extra mile on their behalf." -  Ann Nelson, Founder of Ann Plans LLC

Mini-Reflection Exercise

When do you catch yourself smiling?

What makes your heart skip a beat?

What do your friends tell you that you do so well or seem excited about?

When it would be easy to get caught up in something you’re passionate about, how do you keep yourself from going overboard (e.g. losing sleep, not seeing friends, not wanting to talk about anything else)?

What do you experience that you wish the rest of the world could?

From Teresa: I’m a happy member of HOURCAR (a shared car program with a hybrid fleet in the Twin Cities). I made the decision for practical, environmental and financial reasons (it doesn’t hurt that it’s fun to drive a Prius).
